There’s nothing like a perfectly blended, nutrition packed smoothie for a quick and easy feel good treat. The fruit, the veggies, and everything in between sounds like the ideal mash up but truth be told that one must be extra careful of the ingredients swirling around your smoothies.

 Keeping it balanced and neutral with stomach friendly ingredients is the way to go. When your gut is healthy and balanced, it tells your brain that you are feeling good and happy but when the gut isn’t happy, the whole body isn’t happy. Today, we’re sharing some of our favorite gut-friendly foods to add to your soothing smoothies for a happier you. Let’s get to it!

Yogurt:Did you know that your body is packed with both good and bad microbes? It’s true! When the bad bacteria takes over you can become more prone to getting sick, feeling tired, and the over all feeling of...BLAH! To help keep your system a happy one, add some probiotics like yogurt to your smoothie. Probiotics help fight any bad bacteria that may be hanging around your gut and nourishes your stomach. Bananas:Bananas are the great neutralizer to your stomach. They help provide a healthy and normal balance of the bacteria in your gut and add them in for your daily dose of potassium. The dietary fibers found in bananas help improve digestion and may also help reduce inflammation. Consider this mighty fruit calming to the tummy.

Ginger:For centuries, Ginger has been the mighty tummy fixer. Ginger helps subside any nausea, indigestion, and bloating.  Not only will ginger add a zesty taste in your recipes, it is the natural cure for an upset stomach because of it’s natural, anti-inflammatory properties that helps reduce any sort of irritation.
